Carolyn is a plein air painter of California landscapes. Her paintings document many local scenes of the Stanford foothills and Palo Alto environs, her bold use of color reflecting the Californian sunshine. Her VW van is her studio, and she can often be found along the Alameda de las Pulgas, painting at her easel under a beach umbrella.
Carolyn has a fascination with color. She is a physicist and has spent the last decade as a recognised authority in colorimetry (the science of color and color mixing with light). Her understanding of color as a scientist complements her use of color as an artist.
